This work group was established in November 2010 to work on a US standard for healthy housing. Members of the group represent several key green building, standard setting, and housing organizations. During the Lead and Healthy Homes Conference in February 2011 and thereafter, the group is holding sessions to advance the standard’s development. The group is considering existing documents such as historic APHA statements, current standards, and other widely accepted approaches, balancing no-deficiency prescriptive measures (e.g. no visible moisture or mold) with performance indicators (e.g. humidity within certain range). A consensus standard process will be used to position the resultant product for wide acceptance in model codes and other systems.
